Design Direction
This setup was designed from a cake reference and a small collection of inspiration images the client provided.
From there, everything was refined into a softer, more cohesive version of an under the sea theme.
Instead of bright, overwhelming colours, we worked with muted blues, soft neutrals and layered textures to create something that still felt playful, but calm enough to sit beautifully within an outdoor space.
The goal was to bring the theme to life in a way that felt styled and intentional, without losing the ease of the day.
The backdrop created a clear focal point for photos, while anchoring the entire setup visually.
By holding most of the detail here, the rest of the space was able to stay open, breathable and easy for guests to move through.
Alongside the styling, a dedicated soft play area was set up to give younger guests their own space to play.
This included a ball pit and rollercoaster, crowd favourites that keep little ones engaged without needing constant supervision.
It’s one of the most used areas at events like this, especially in open park settings where having a contained play zone makes a big difference.
A simple picnic setting was added to give the space somewhere to gather, sit and actually enjoy the day.
Low tables, layered rugs and cushions were styled to match the overall theme, keeping everything cohesive without overcomplicating the layout.
